专利说明:
Wall composed of a number of vertical panels that are slidable and pivotable with respect to an upper and lower guide. The invention relates to a wall composed of a number of vertical panels which are slidable and pivotable relative to an upper and a lower guide, wherein each panel has a vertical axis of rotation which is accommodated in support members which can be slid into the guides, the other vertical edge of each panel is provided with a member which can be pivoted away from the guide through an opening arranged in the guide, while means are provided for keeping the axis of rotation, when the panel is pivoted, in the vertical position. Such a wall is known from EP 1 496 182-A2. With this known construction of a wall, its panels can be pushed towards a certain end of the wall and pivoted away there, so that they come to lie against each other and the guides are substantially free of panels. Keeping the axis of rotation in the vertical position around which a panel is pivoted out of the plane of the wall is desirable in order to ensure that the support members of the axis of rotation can no longer slide in the guides. If a shift could occur, the shaft could assume a somewhat oblique position. This could lead to overloading a panel and the other parts of the wall. With all its disadvantages. Such a wall can for instance be used in buildings to temporarily divide a large space into two parts, so that spaces are obtained that can be used for different purposes. Such a wall can also serve to close off a balcony, in which in particular glass panels will be used. The latter possibility is mentioned, for example, in WO 01/04446 A1. In both cases, keeping the axis of rotation in the vertical position requires a relatively cumbersome and thus expensive construction. The invention now relates in particular to a wall in which the support of the panels and the means used for maintaining the axis of rotation in the vertical position are of simple construction. To this end, according to the invention, the vertical axis of rotation connected to a panel is received in support members with a substantially rectangular cross-section, comprising an upper and a lower cap with a flexible, substantially annular member in between, two walls of which are opposite each other provided with an external toothing, within which flexible member a substantially annular operating member is present, which is coupled to the axis of rotation and is provided on its outer circumference with opposite recesses, which can cooperate with suitable inwardly projecting parts of the flexible ring-shaped member, wherein in the interior of the guide opposite strips provided with an inwardly directed toothing are arranged, which strips can co-act with the toothing of the flexible member. As long as a panel, and therefore the relevant axis of rotation thereof, performs a sliding movement within the guides, the teeth of the flexible member and of the strips in the guides are out of engagement with each other. The parts of the flexible member protruding inwards are herein included in the recesses of the operating member. Now when the panel is pivoted and thus the operating member coupled to the axis of rotation is rotated, the recesses therein will start to push away the projecting parts of the flexible member so that the toothing of the flexible member into the toothing of the strip the guide is pressed. The axis of rotation can now continue to rotate, but its support members can no longer shift in the guides. In particular, the upper and lower caps of the support members will serve to guide the axis of rotation in the guides, while only at the location of the desired position of the axis of rotation of the flexible member there is a strip with teeth in the guide. In order to facilitate the pushing away of the inwardly projecting parts of the flexible member, these parts can taper inwardly, as can the recesses I which are arranged in the operating member. Preferably, the connection between the axis of rotation and the operating member will be achieved in that the shaft is externally provided with at least one cam, which can be suitably received in a slot in the operating member. The axis of rotation does not therefore have to be fixed in the operating member and there may be a certain play in the vertical direction between the two parts. Therefore, close tolerances need not be maintained. The various parts of a support member can be connected to each other, for example by means of bolts arranged at the corner points of the parts. It only needs to be ensured that the parts of the flexible member provided with the toothings can be pressed out freely. The flexible member will be manufactured from a material with the desired degree of flexibility, such as, for example, a plastic material. The invention is further elucidated on the basis of an exemplary embodiment shown in the drawing, in which: FIG. 1 schematically shows a perspective view of a wall in which the invention is applied and in which a number of the panels are pivoted out of the plane of the wall; FIG. 2 shows a perspective view of a support member in the mounted position as well as an exploded view; FIG. 3 schematically shows a cross section through a support member in the non-pivoted position of the panel, in which no locking occurs, and in the position in which the panel is pivoted just enough to effect the locking; and FIG. 4 shows diagrammatically a perspective view and a section through a part of a conductor and a strip provided with toothing. Figure 1 shows a wall 1 composed of a number of panels 2, which are slidably accommodated in guides 3. To this end, each panel 2 is provided with a rotation axis 4, which serves as a pivot axis for the panel when it is pivoted to the position 2A as shown in the left-hand part of Figure 1. The other vertical edge of a panel 2 is provided with a member 5, which can be received in the conductor 3 and can be pivoted therefrom through an opening 6 arranged in the conductor 3. The axis of rotation 4 is received in a support member 7, as is shown in particular in Figure 2. The exploded view shows that the support member 7 in particular consists of an upper cap 8 and a lower cap 9, with a flexible, substantially annular member 10, of which two opposite walls 11 are each provided with an external toothing 12. Inside the flexible member 10 there is a substantially annular operating member 13, which is coupled to the axis of rotation 4. For this purpose the axis of rotation 4 provided with two cams 14 which can be slidably received in slots 15 in the operating member 13. The operating element 13 is further provided with opposing recesses 16, which can cooperate with inwardly projecting parts 17 of the wall 11 of the flexible, annular element 10. The parts 8, 9 and 10 of the support member 7 are connected to each other by means of bolts 18 which extend through bores arranged near the corner points of the relevant parts. The operating element 13 remains freely rotatable relative to the other components. As is particularly apparent from Figure 3, the recesses 16 in the operating member 13 and the inwardly projecting parts 17 of the flexible member 10 have a tapered shape. When the operating member 13 is rotated relative to the flexible member 10, from the position shown in the left-hand part of Fig. 3, the wall 11 of the flexible member 10 will thereby be easily pushed outwards, as it is in the right part of Figure 3 is shown. As can be seen from the right-hand part of figure 3, when the wall 11 of the flexible member 10 is pressed outwards, the toothing 12 will come into engagement with the toothing 19 of a strip 20 which is arranged on the inner wall of a conductor 3. Figure 4 shows a perspective view of a part of a conductor 3, inside which a strip 20 is provided, which is provided with the toothing 19. The further parts of the conductor 3 serve for guiding a support member 7, which is for this purpose described with reference to Figure 2. It will be clear that only a single possible embodiment of an assembly of a wall according to the invention is shown in the drawing and described above and that many modifications can be made without departing from the inventive idea, such as those in the invention. conclusions.
